Complexity Made Simple

by | Oct 18, 2021 | Archives

How do we cope with the complexity of change in today’s fast paced world?

One answer is to see a bigger picture and rely more on intuition.  This however can be hard because we are blinded by the tyranny of reason.

The first book I wrote in the 1970s was entitled “Passport to International Profit”  One chapter described the “Concept Conversion Trick”.

The book said:  “The Concept Conversion Trick begins when people agree on a good concept for working and living together. The people go to work and if the concept is good they will create a paradise. The government gives them a flag and a song. Then the government pulls the trick. The government convinces the people that the flag and song are important. Then while the people are busy watching the flag and singing the song, the government replaces the original concept with a set of ever increasing written rules and regulations administered by bureaucrats and backed up by a police force.

“This trick trades people’s individual freedoms for a shiver up the spine when the song is played and the piece of cloth is waved.

The Concept Conversion Trick turns spirit into matter.

Like trading love for a beautiful plastic doll. When the trick has been pulled and the dust settles, the people realize too late what has happened. Anyone who steps out of line is called unpatriotic or even criminal. He is swatted down by the bureaucracy or police force, crushed with overwhelming power or made an example of so others will tow the mark ‘for the good of society’. All this is done in the name of public interest.”

Because of this trick, we look around today and say “huh, what has happened over the past 50 years”, because what’s going on does not seem reason-able.  Yet a lot of what we believe is really unreasonable, but because it’s so prevalent, we believe it to be reason-able.

It seems to me that campaign slogans like “Build Back Better” and “Make America Great Again” are nothing but a continuation of the trick so I am surprised that so many Americans are polarized.  It seems pretty obvious to me that both parties are in on the trick. Why aren’t we “do something about it” mad at the politicians, left or right, rather than opposing each other?

Lots of “Concept Conversion Tricks” in the map above.

How do we adapt our thinking when so much of our upbringing and surrounding are based on the trick?

Historian Yuvall Harari explains the problem in his book “Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow”.

“Each and every one of us has been born into a given historical reality, ruled by particular norms and values, and managed by a unique economic and political system. We take this reality for granted, thinking it is natural, inevitable and immutable. We forget that our world was created by an accidental chain of events, and that history shaped not only our technology, politics and society, but also our thoughts, fears and dreams. The cold hand of the past emerges from the grave of our ancestors, grips us by the neck and directs our gaze towards a single future. We have felt that grip from the moment we were born, so we assume that it is a natural and inescapable part of who we are. Therefore we seldom try to shake ourselves free, and envision alternative futures.”

One step we can take is to trust our intuition.

Merri and I were lucky as we always trusted each other and our combined intuition.  Again and again we have had a “sudden moment” that has brought us a fortune or something truly wonderful into our lives. An unexpected look in each other’s eye has led, without further discussions, to investment of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

For example we bought our hotel in Ecuador this way, with less than 30 seconds of deliberation.

cotacachi-hotels

We were conducting a tour of real estate for sale.  We stopped at the hotel for lunch.  While looking around the building, the tour guide mentioned that the hotel was for sale. A voice inside said, “OMG, your going to buy this hotel.  I walked down the stairs and met Merri on a landing half way. We looked at each other and she said, “I know”.

We didn’t even have to say… “I know we are buying a hotel”.  We simply knew and acted on those feelings.

Yet the story of how we have come to rely on these spontaneous, good luck hunches is even more interesting.

This story dates back to the early 80s. Merri and I had met but did not know one another all that well. I was in Las Vegas  speaking at a seminar and a mutual friend who had introduced Merri and me were attending that seminar.

las vegas

Las Vegas, hardly a place for a spiritual insight.

We were sitting in a hotel room chatting when Merri suddenly said, “I think you would be good at psychometry.”

“Great”, I said. “What’s Psychometry?”

Psychometry it turned out is a form of communication using the sense of touch to get mental impressions linked to an object. She had a silver doubloon with her that had come from Mel Fisher’s Atocha treasure. I was game and said “Let’s try it”.

The idea is that psychometric impressions come in the form of emotions, sounds, scents, tastes or images. Because we live in an electromagnetic energy environment, metal objects often work best.

The term was coined in 1842 by Joseph R. Buchanan, an American physiologist, who claimed it could be used to measure the ‘soul’ of all things. Buchanan further said that the past is entombed in the present. He experimented with students at Cincinnati Medical School and found that some people who had been given unmarked bottles of medicine had the same reaction as if they had taken the medicine. He developed the theory that all things give off an emanation which contained a sort of record of the history of the object. He believed that objects recorded senses and emotions and these could be sensed in the mind.

I did not know this at the time but was game so held the coin and must say that as I went into a meditative state I did start having some visions. First I saw a brilliant blue..unusual for me as I never dream in color. The Atocha was carrying indigo I was later told but this did not really impress me much.

Then I saw a man with a goatee, in a Spanish style puffy, white silk shirts with a women in a very unusual hairdo…”like peacock feathers,” I described. Then I saw a sword, very specific, a wine flask wrapped in filigree silver, a huge belt buckle on the man and ended up seeing flames, I said were “like sheaths of wheat”.

So that was that. I was not really impressed. Big deal…who was the guy, the gal? What’s all this word stuff. Ho Hum.

So we with a friend (who had faithfully sat through this) went to dinner, typical Italian Las Vegas fare. After dinner our mutual friend suggested we stop by a show called Circus Circus. I had never been to a Vegas show so “Why not” I said, “sounds like fun”.

As we entered “Circus-Circus” a new act was just beginning and the introducer came out. It was the woman I had described. Merri and our mutual friend had heard my description so they were impressed with the similarity. I was stunned because this was not a similarity. This was the woman I had seen hours before in my dream. She introduced the act, a juggler who came out, the guy in the Spanish silk short with the belt buckle! My knees were now wobbly.

The act included juggling the swords I had described and balancing the wine flask I had seen. In the end my friend said, “If I see the sheaths of flame I am convinced!” Sure enough the end of the finale included an assistant who was lighting huge Bunsen burners and jumping through the sheaths of flame as he juggled away.

Somehow, and I have never been able to explain this, holding that coin allowed me to see the future, not the past. I have never tried psychometry again, but that evening was a life changing event because it showed me in terms I could not deny nor will ever forget that we are connected to knowledge and information that reaches way beyond our sense and logic.

That moment gave Merri and me confidence that hunches are more than wild imagination. They are a form of communication that goes beyond what our brain can sort out in finite terms. That seed of belief that was planted those many years ago has grown as we have cultivated it with trial and error and experience.

Not everyone has the good fortune to meet a soulmate that empowers intuition, but if you look and search for ways, they are there for each of us to see and know we see a foggy, but bigger picture.  The owning of that Ecuador hotel was not all rosy, but overall it led us to a to a really great journey and adventure in our life.

So the next time you need a miracle…do not deny that one can happen. The next time you have done your due diligence and some small niggling reaches you, act on it. This does not mean you should stop working nor that you should quit using due diligence. The idea is to fuse the intellect and intuition, not abandon nor honor one over the other. Logic and intuition work best as a team!

Nor does it mean you should go out and risk all on a hunch. Start small….all things should start small and grow.

You possess connections to infinite knowledge. Your mind cannot grapple this because the act of defining defeats the very thing you are connected to. However if you can let go and let your intuition lead you, you too may have some wonderful surprises and luck that after awhile will not be surprising at all!

Be smarter… more energetic…. healthier… more relaxed.

That’s the way to get ahead!

Create more income opportunity.  Reduce stress.  Improve your health.  Be naturally smarter… use Super Thinking.

You can improve your IQ in just weeks.

You might well ask… How is this possible?

Here’s how the scientists say it is possible.

A Wall Street Journal article entitled “Ways to Inflate Your IQ”(1)  show how you can be smarter and actually add matter to your brain.  The article says:

Many people think of IQ as a genetic trait, like brown eyes or short legs: You’re born with it and you’re stuck with it.

Now, a growing body of research is showing that a person’s IQ can rise—and even fall—over the years.

Scores can change gradually or quickly, after as little as a few weeks of cognitive training, research shows.

British students were given IQ tests and brain scans at ages 12 to 16 and again about four years later.  9% of the students showed a significant change of 15 points or more in IQ scores.

The study published in Nature said that on a scale where 90 to 110 is considered average, one student’s IQ rose 21 points to 128 from 107, lifting the student from the 68th percentile to the 97th compared with others the same age.

MRIs in this study showed changes in gray matter in areas corresponding to fluctuations in the kid’s skills.

There are practical steps people can take to see longer-term IQ changes.  New tasks stimulate the brain most.  Young adults given just one month of intense training in juggling, found an increase in the corresponding gray matter in the brain as early as seven days after the training began.

Fluctuations in IQ scores over time underscore the brain-boosting benefits of musical training and new experiences throughout a lifetime.

Music lessons are linked to higher IQ throughout life.  Six years’ lessons lifted children’s IQ scores an average 7.5 points.

Improve the brain through music… without lessons.

Here’s the Super Thinking story…

The educational program Merri and I developed uses a form of brain wave integration that increases IQ.

Super Thinking uses frequency (in music and a number of other ways) to integrate brain waves so the process of absorbing, processing and recalling information is vastly accelerated.  The music creates the three C’s:  Calm, Clarity and Coherence.

This Super Thinking program is not a gimmick or trick… just advanced education.

Certain types of Baroque music are the base, and they make you smarter!

Proof?

At least four best selling books, “Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain”,  “Superlearning”, the “Mozart Effect” and “Superlearning 2000″ showed how to learn and think more powerfully based on systems drawn from the Bulgarian educational master, Dr. Georgi Lozanov.

This Baroque music tactic alone is so powerful that Small Business Innovation Research… an official site of the US government granted over $100,000 for the specific purpose they said was: to provide a method to remove barriers which hinder or prevent the employment of blind persons.  An innovative method, the Lozanov Learning System, is proposed to help train blind persons to become computer programmers and operators of automated equipment.

Merri was among just a few who learned this technique directly from Dr. Lozanov the time he visited the USA.

Our Super Thinking workshop enhanced this system with numerous other tactics.

We added slight alterations in nutrition that create a higher IQ.   Altered nutritional tips in Super Thinking can make anyone 25% smarter!

Baroque Music and nutrition are just part of seven, easy to use, learning techniques that make you smarter.

Gain any skill, from computers to athletics to conversational languages…in less time…two-to-five times faster.

Here’s a huge bonus.  Super Thinking also relieves stress.  Super Thinking is fun.

You can use a Super Thinking focus in everything:  health… earning… education… investing.

Super Thinking works on the learner first…the data second.  This system “grows the learner” rather than the information.

If you have 4.5 inches of information flowing through a 4 inch learning pipe, the solution is not to add another inch of information.  The answer is create a six inch IQ pipe!

Share our years of experience.

For nearly 50 years, Merri and I have conducted hundreds of courses and tours for tens of thousands, in dozens of countries (even behind the Iron Curtain).  Our Super Thinking Workshop has been one of the most profound.  Now the workshop is even better online because it condenses Super Thinking so you can increase your IQ, at home… right away.

The workshop shows how these mind expanding tactics can be applied to starting and running a business for extra income, to forex trading and investing.  Athletes of all types… golfing being one common sport benefit.  Our Super Thinking plan goes far beyond Lozanov and allows you to rapidly get smarter in every part of your life.

For example, real estate broker, Suzy Kurinsky took the workshop to help her learn Spanish.

She wrote: “You are the BEST!!! Your Seminar was fantastic! I am so excited. I had procrastinated fulfilling my continuing education for my Broker’s License and then just before my surgeries, I realized by expiration date isn’t Nov. 12th – it is Sept 12th. Prior to taking your course I had only completed 3 units of the required 45 units. I thought I would take your course and then complete my remaining 42 units over the next 2 weeks. However, I took one class exam on Saturday night, August 27th. I didn’t even take the cellophane off the required Course manuals until after I saw the two of you today less than 5 hours ago! I used your techniques and completed 39 units of continuing education today. I have now completed all 45 units. All of my test scores were in the 90.6-96% range.  My course exam information is listed below. I just wanted to let you know how valuable your course was to me. Thanks again!”

Super thinking can improve almost anything you do… faster, better, more fun and with less stress.

Another attendee to the Super Thinking Workshop sent this note.

Thank you for the wonderful workshop on Super Learning + Spanish!  I really enjoyed the workshop and getting to know you.   I can see several ways to apply what I learned in the classes I teach.

Since I returned home, I have purchased some of the CDs of Baroque music and thought about which specific pieces will work best in different parts of my classes.  I am also reading Perfect Health by Deepak Chopra.  I found your discussion of this book to be very helpful in showing how to balance one’s life.  I have adjusted my daily schedule, and I can already notice a difference in my productivity.

Super Thinking can help improve your health. Super Thinking can make you rich and add richness to your life.

However the time, travel expense and workshop cost (delegates have paid up to $999) have prohibited many from getting this benefit.

That’s why we have created the workshop in electronic form.  Get Super Thinking online for less than fifty bucks.

Another Super Thinking workshop attendee wrote: Listening to the two of you during our time together has suddenly got me to thinking, and although some of the ideas still seem foreign to me,  I am at a point in my life now where I can say, “anything is possible”.   I am now willing to embrace and allow myself to experience the world of possibility and let it take me in directions I may have in the past resisted.  I really don’t know where all this is going to lead me but I am now willing to explore, develop and grow.   Thank you again for a wonderful four days!!
