I love autumn. At our farm, the leaves change and this is the most beautiful time of the year.

Yet cold winds, dry and brittle, come with the glory and splendor of the leaf change. Viruses travel more easily in dry conditions so cold and influenza (and I suspect COVID) activity often increases in October.
There’s no guaranteed way to stop viral infections and there is plenty of conflict of thought being waged over the value of vaccinations.
Here’s a couple of tips that can enhance our immune system and improve the odds, of viral or bacterial risk, in our favor.
These ideas are based on theories of how disease evolves from an Indian and Andean health care point of view.
Both sciences see health as a balance of three parts of our body. I’ll call these parts air, fire and water to keep the theory simple.
Air is the aspect of movement, all things in motion from our electrical-chemical system, the energy moving through our nerves into receptors, our breath and especially the energy that moves from the base of the spine to the brain. Fire is all things transformational, seeing, hearing, digestion, etc. Water is the solids and fluids within our system.
The theory starts with the idea that most disease begins with air imbalances. Air is the most easily disturbed part of our physiology and the spinal energy is perhaps most important of all. Its flow is required for life.
Chop off a finger, hand, arm, leg or all of them. The energy to the limb is interrupted. Life may be challenged, but not stopped.
Sever the body energy anywhere along the spinal column and death is pretty much assured. Consequently the body provides special protection for this spinal air energy.
Autumn is a cold, brittle time
Autumn is a bad time for colds and flu and such viral infections. Air energy is easily disturbed and is vulnerable to the cold, brittle, autumnal winds. However it’s not the wind or the dry or the cold that leads to infections.
The body’s protective response is the culprit.
When we go out into the cold, the dry, the brittle, especially without some warming attire, the spinal energy can be disturbed. The body’s response is to dampen the area (throat and nasal passages) with mucus.
Those warm mucus filled areas are perfect cultures for bacteria and viruses to grow.
The simple preventative step is to stay out of the wind and chills, or dress adequately so the body does not feel that the spinal energy is threatened.

There is another threat to the spinal energy.
Another way we get too much air in our system is through fermentation in the digestive system via poor eating.
Eating the wrong food or the right food at the wrong time or chewing in the wrong way leads to build up of internal gas. The body’s reaction is the same as to dry, cold, windy air. The body dampens down the throat and nasal passages with mucus.
Too much mucus creates a downward health spiral.
The philosophy is that such air imbalances (if uncorrected) lead to digestive problems. The mucus drains into the stomach and dampens the digestive fires which hinders digestion. Poor digestion leads to increased fermentation which creates more gas (more air) which leads to more mucus.
If still uncorrected, the digestive problems grow and lead to kidney and liver stress (due to excess toxins created by the poor digestion). If the air imbalance grows, skin problems follow, as the body tries to evacuate excess toxins through the skin.
If still unchecked, these toxins finally lodge in the body and create real illness. If the toxins lodge in the joints, arthritis and joint problems can follow. Toxins lodged in the blood vessels, artery and heart create pulmonary ailments. In other places, the toxic build up can create cancer and varies other illnesses. In the brain, Alzheimer’s, etc.
The toxic buildup, and the mucus laden air passages, increase the odds of a bacterial or viral infection.
There are a variety of easy ways to stop or slow the air imbalances before they start.
Mint tea
One Indian trick is to sip warm water through the day away from meals. This is calming. Try this simple remedy and you will see. We have seen people’s lives change when they have a thermos of warm water on their desk, sip it all day (away from meals)!
More importantly the warm water expands the blood supply in the digestive track and improves digestion. Sip four cups of warm water a day, one in the morning, one mid morning, one afternoon and one in the evening. Even better, use the water to replace caffienated tea or coffee.
Your results will run from great to miraculous. Some people have shed fat, others altered their entire personality. At the least you will feel calmer, better and have more energy regardless of how good or bad your diet is this will make your outlook, your energy and your looks better!
Andeans use herbal tea instead, sipped at room temperature. A Yatchak explained to me that the teas worked better because the body sees them as food and digests and absorbs these liquids.
I have used both these techniques with great results.
Organic coffee, tea and cocoa are great purifiers rich in antioxidants.
However stimulants can increase air imbalances so caffeinated coffee and teas are avoided in the Andean diet. If (like me) you won’t give up coffee, focus on moderation and try to drink only organic coffee and tea. Also drink coffee and tea without mucus inducing milk.
Chamomile tea
Here are some of the teas regularly used in the Andes:
#1: The Andean shamans brew a cleansing tea made from cinnamon, black cardomom and chamomile.
#2: Chamomile. This tea has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-allergenic and sedative properties and encourages sleep.
It is used as a treatment for fevers, colds and stomach ailments because it has antiseptic, antispasmodic, antipyretic, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiallergenic action. Chamomile is sipped daily in lieu of coffee in the Andes.
#3: Lemon Balm is another tea regularly used. Lemon Balm has been employed against bronchial inflammation, earache, fever, flatulence, headaches, high blood pressure, influenza, mood disorders, palpitations, toothache and vomiting. A tea made from Lemon Balm leaves is said to soothe nervous agitation, sleeping problems, functional gastrointestinal complaints, menstrual cramps and urinary spasms.
Like Chamomile, Lemon Balm helps reduce anxiety and insomnia, plus helps mental focus and concentration.
#4: Mint tea is another sipped at room temperature. Mint is known to soothe the digestive tract and reduce the severity and length of stomach problems.
Two other air regulators are to chew and breath in the correct way.
Correct chewing releases nutrient molecules so energy from food is more quickly released and assimilated. This allows the brain to recognize flavors and release the correct digestive juices for that food. Proper chewing does even more because it stimulates the body’s sphincter (or ring) muscles that surround the various orifices of the body.
Ring muscles include the muscles around the eyes, the nostrils, anus, urethra, genitals and the mouth. In a healthy body, all sphincters work together, contracting and relaxing simultaneously. They also activate the respiratory system, the gastrointestinal system, the circulatory system, the lymphatic system, the musculoskeletal system and the urogenital system. Chewing correctly stimulates the ring muscles and consequently improves digestion as well as helps exercise all our muscles.
This chewing exercise comes from Israel. This profoundly powerful method of mastication stimulates the body’s sphincter (or ring) muscles that surround the various orifices of the body.

Ring Muscle Chewing
Ring muscles include the muscles around the eyes, the nostrils, anus, urethra, genitals and the mouth. In a healthy body, all sphincters work together, contracting and relaxing simultaneously.
They also activate the respiratory system, the gastrointestinal system, the circulatory system, the lymphatic system, the musculoskeletal system and the urogenital system. Ring muscles are ultimately responsible for putting all the other muscles and all the organs of the body to work.
Chewing correctly stimulates the ring muscles and consequently helps exercise all our muscles.
Chewing should be done with the lips closed, but with the oral cavity open as wide as possible. When chewing is done correctly the lower sphincters and intestines can be felt working in rhythm and causing the abdomen to contract.
You exercise the neck, chest, abdomen, all the way down to the butt, just by chewing differently.
It also important to chew on both sides of the mouth.
Overeating is a very common problem today and this is fundamentally a result of poor muscle tone of the oral sphincter.
When our sphincter muscles are out of balance the body tries to restore them by chewing. Thus what seems to be the body’s craving for food can be the body’s craving for proper exercise of the sphincters.
Too much food creates fermentation in the digestive system.
With proper exercise the sphincters return to normal operation and there is no longer a demand for more food than the body needs. It is possible to eat enough without the fear of getting fat. All you have to do is to make sure to open your jaws widely enough with each chew to bring all the sphincters muscles into action. This will reduce your body’s craving to eat and will also enable your body to burn up more calories more efficiently.
The flu season is here. No one knows what this autumn will bring, a surge in the pandemic, increased social unrest, economic chaos. Whatever comes, we have to face it. The healthier we are, the better we can meet and beat the challenges.
These three simple steps, dress for the weather, chew correctly and drink warm water and or herbal tea can add protection at the root of our vitality and health. The cost is almost nothing. There are no risks I can think of, so why not start these steps now and gain extra protection from autumn’s disease?

Studies showed that reduced body fat creates a 25% lower chance of developing cancer.
Fortunately there is a little known way to reduce body fat that does not even require exercise.? I’ll share more on this secret in a moment.
First, body fat, COVID-19 and cancer? Let’s ask why?
Part of the answer is toxicity.
Healthy bodies naturally and regularly remove water-soluble toxins from the body. Our blood and kidneys flush them away.
Fat-soluble toxins such as metals, pesticides, preservatives, other pollutants are harder to flush out of the system. Fat-soluble toxins must become water-soluble before the body can get rid of them. The liver can do this conversion (bile emulsifies fat-souble toxins into water-soluble). This process requires healthy digestive and detox pathways. When they become imbalanced, fat-soluble toxins are stored in fat cells and brain cells instead. These toxins can remain for decades and create health problems.
The fat stored toxins cause oxidation (free radical damage) and degeneration as well as mutation. Toxins in the fatty tissue of the brain become neurotoxins that can cause cognitive problems and a host of mental and brain imbalances.
Burn Fat to Burn Toxins
When you burn fat you turn on the body’s detox fuel. Fat metabolism is the body’s natural form of energy. Fat metabolism provides a more steady energy than glucose metabolism and flushes fat cells free of toxins. As the toxicity drops, the nervous system has reduced stress and will naturally burn fat instead of sugar.
This is why I have written three reports about shamanic health secrets.
As we progress beyond COVID or if COVID becomes the new normal, this fact remains.
I was reminded of the need for natural health the when I suffered a two week bout with this viral infection.

Hospitals are incredibly dangerous places. Our health and are pocketbooks are at risk when we go there.
Modern American health care was already under pressure. Despite horrendous costs, the system has been faltering. At times the care is more dangerous than the illness. For example hospitals are the worst place to have a heart attack. The University of North Carolina, did a study and found that 40% of the patients who had attacks in the hospital died before being discharged. (The study compared that with only a 4% death rate for those who had heart attacks outside the hospital.)
Plus it was recently revealed that medical endoscopy scopes in hospitals were infecting patients with deadly drug-resistant bacteria. The facts about this had not been previously disclosed. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that hospital-acquired infections alone kill 99,000 people each year.
Here is an even worse hospital mortality fact.
The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention shows that hospital-acquired infections alone kill 57% more Americans every year than all car accidents and falls put together.
Even before the pandemic, what patients catch in the hospital has often worse than what sent them there.
Along with the risk of hospital acquired illness and medical errors, the second huge threat to our well being… is health care costs, especially at hospitals.
A time.com article “Total Cost of Her COVID-19 Treatment: $34,927.43” (1) shows how much our finances are at risk from COVID-19 in th hospital.
The article says: When Danni Askini started feeling chest pain, shortness of breath and a migraine all at once on a Saturday in late February, she called the oncologist who had been treating her lymphoma. Her doctor thought she might be reacting poorly to a new medication, so she sent Askini to a Boston-area emergency room. There, doctors told her it was likely pneumonia and sent her home.
Over the next several days, Askini saw her temperature spike and drop dangerously, and she developed a cough that gurgled because of all the liquid in her lungs. After two more trips to the ER that week, Askini was given a final test on the seventh day of her illness, and once doctors helped manage her flu and pneumonia symptoms, they again sent her home to recover. She waited another three days for a lab to process her test, and at last she had a diagnosis: COVID-19.
A few days later, Askini got the bills for her testing and treatment: $34,927.43. “I was pretty sticker-shocked,” she says. “I personally don’t know anybody who has that kind of money.”
The patient described was uninsured, but according to the article, even those with full insurance should expect deductibles and co-pays to run into thousands!
Hospital Failure
The Commonwealth Fund in its latest survey on overall health care ranked US healthcare dead last compared to 10 major countries. Despite being worst, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, New York Times have all warned about huge, increasingly costly, health care changes. There are enormous problems in hospitals and chances are they are going to get worse.
When it comes to health care, we may be worse off than if we are on our own. The very people, institutions and establishments that we should rely on may actually hurt rather than help our health.
