Good books are one of our most important tools for improving health, increasing wealth and upgrading our qualities of life. Books broaden our horizon even when we do not travel. They in-form us and make us even better.
Good books open avenues of new ideas so we can adapt in a changing world. Good books can expand our outlook so our thinking broadens. They can pull us up when we are feeling down. They can help us escape when there is nowhere to go and help us go when we have no map. Books can help us realize the courage and strength within us. Books speak our inspiration and remind us of the importance of hard work integrated with hope and courage. Books battle ignorance, fine tune our intellect and reforge our experience..
Bad books can do the opposite of everything they can do that’s good. The power of the word has progressively been obscured by “alternate facts” so we have to avoid books that deviate from truth, make us miserable and develop bad habits.
Books can guide and lead us or mislead and misguide us. So I’m starting a book shelf to highlight books I have written, contributed to and/or read. These are books on my bookshelf that have made my life better and I think they will yours, too.
Here are seven books that can help have better health, increased income and safer wealth.

“The Ageless Boomer”
“The Ageless Boomer” has been released by our friends, Jim Vigue and Dr. Joy Macci.
Dr. Jim is a former USA Baseball/Major League Players Association Coach of the Year. He is also a multi year winner of HealthTap’s Natural Health Influencer of the Year award. HealthTap is a $40,000,000 venture capital backed site where over 100,000 doctors answer questions and provide telemedicine services. Jim is also a multi award winning writer and publisher.
Dr. Joy Macci is an international author and leadership coach for Olympic and elite athletes. She has coached and trained many of the top athletes in the world including tennis’ Williams sisters. She specializes in ageless sports, fitness and wellness.
I contributed one chapter in the book. This is an important book to read, especially for Boomers and reveals numerous benefits such as:
- How to avoid 50% of all orthopedic surgeries.
- How to avoid invasive heart procedures.
- How to reverse diabetes.
- How to reduce stress.
- How to boost memory.
- How to reduce risk of Alzheimer’s Disease.
- How to maximize fitness and increase longevity.
“Secret of the Ring Muscle”
A new discovery has made it possible for me to share one of my most valuable books. Though the information this book contains is used in other national health care programs, the valuable health tips therein have been hidden in the US and Canada. See how this book came to me, why the health care industry does not want you to know about it and why I am sharing this with you now.
One reason that Merri and I have loved our international business for 50 years is that it has brought us broader health horizons. Here is a true and absolutely vital story about natural health.
“How to Get Rich”
This book is a must for anyone who wants to write, publish or have a small or micro business to create extra income. Felix Dennis is an expert at showing how to do succeed in a small business. Starting as a college dropout with no family money, he created a publishing empire, founded Maxim magazine, made himself one of the richest people in the UK, and had a blast in the process.
How to Get Rich is different from any other book on the subject because Dennis isn’t selling snake oil, investment tips, or motivational claptrap. He merely wants to help people embrace entrepreneurship, and to share lessons he learned the hard way. He reveals, for example, why a regular paycheck is like crack cocaine; why great ideas are vastly overrated; and why “ownership isn’t the important thing, it’s the only thing.”
“The Intelligent Investor”
“The Intelligent Investor” written by Benjamin Graham and Jason Zweig with Warren Buffet as a collaborator is THE classic book on value investing. This investment book outlines no-fail value strategies without gimmicks. The book is filled with wisdom about investing.
“Three Season Diet”
“The 3-Season Diet is very informative. It helps me on game days, when I need energy most. This book is a winner.”
— Kendall Gill, team captain, the New Jersey Nets
From the Inside Flap
* Do you drink coffee in the morning to get your day started?
* Do you work through lunch?
* Do you crave sweets or a nap in the afternoon?
* Have you tried losing weight in the past three years and given up?
* Do you tend to have bouts of worry, anxiety, and depression?
* Do you have difficulty remembering things?
If you do, this book will help you restore balance to your daily life. By following its simple instructions for eating foods appropriate to each season, adjusting your diet to your body type, eating at the optimal time of the day, and exercising without triggering a survival response, you will not only lose excess pounds and maintain your ideal weight, you will generate energy and power in your life.
Derived from a 5,000-year-old traditional medical system, the 3-season diet does what no other diet will: work along with the body’s natural response to the changing seasons, feeding it what it craves and can best utilize at all times. In spring, for instance, we want salads, berries, and leafy greens, a naturally low-fat diet. And in winter, we yearn for hearty soups, nuts, warm grains, and high-fat and protein-rich foods such as fish and meat. Following the foods that nature provides seasonally creates the best diet for balancing weight, mood, and energy for anyone living anywhere on earth.
“How to Know God”
This is one of my favorites… “How to Know God” translations of Patanjali by Isherwood, because it delves at the core of how we think and can make mental errors. More importantly it shows ways to correct our mistakes of thought.
The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali is a major work on the practice of yoga and meditation. These ancient aphorisms provide insights on how to control your mind and achieve inner peace and freedom. These ideas and methods were taught over 2,000 years ago, but are as alive and effective today as before.
