Nutrition is one of the most important foundations of good health and there are many potential factors contributing to unsuccessful weight loss.   One vital but mostly overlooked factor of nutrition is that when you eat may be just as important as what you eat.

Dr. Mercola (1) says:  In over 30 years of clinical practice, intermittent fasting is one of the most effective ways to shed excess weight I have ever seen. This is for two reasons  because it helps improve your insulin and leptin sensitivity and because it “resets” your body to more effectively burn fat for fuel.

Both Ayurveda and Andean nutritional sciences avoid eating close to bedtime because sleeping after meals can have serious health consequences.

Research shows that feeding mitochondria at a time when energy is not needed causes a large number of electrons to leak.  This turns oxygen in the system into free radicals.  Free radicals in turn damage cellular structure and even DNA.  There’s also evidence that the damaged cells are linked to the formation of cancer cells.
