Recent history shows that independence requires inner strength beyond brute strength. Strong muscles and weak organs lead to disaster in a body or a nation. At every level of life, we need to take care of our inner strengths first. From this power outer defenses will spring.
Five Rites of Rejuvination
One well publicized set of exercises called the “Five Tibetan Rites” were shown to me by a reader who attended one of our Swiss real estate tours in the 1970s.
This man, a retired MD, who looked and acted around 50 astounded us all on the tour, when he announced that he was celebrating his 80th birthday.
He gave me a copy of Peter Kelder’s 32 page booklet “The Eye of Revelation”. I have kept this small booklet for all these years as a most cherished gift and I use these exercises.
Kelder tells the story of a retired British army colonel of special longevity and vigor through regular exercise of the Rites which are said to be a form of Tibetan yoga similar to the yoga series that originated in India. These exercises are similar to moves within the Sun Salute and the Llama Walk and build inner strength as well as muscular tone.
The first exercise.
The second exercise.
A great way to celebrate America’s independence is to become more personally independent inside and out. These five exercises can bring you inner as well as outer strength.
