Ecuador rentals are in short supply in Ecuador and rents are good. Do not be sucked in by ads saying you can rent a place in Ecuador for $150 a month. You can… but you can rent a place in the USA for $150 a month as well. You will not want to live in either!
Cuenca rentals for expats are especially in demand. Here is a good value top end Cuenca rental next door to Villa Nova on the Rio Tomebamba within walking distance of Old Town and New Town in an ideal location.
The owner writes: Pricing is about the cost of a 4-star hotel, about $50/day, but we rent by the week and month, and have 3500sq.ft on two
floors, with master suites on each floor along with two other bedroom and another bathroom and 2nd living room on the upper floor. We had a family
of 5 adults staying with us over Christmas, and they were very comfortable upstairs; while Carolyn and I were downstairs in the Master Suite there.
All sharing the kitchen, laundry room, dining room and living room

Nearby stone steps lead up from the river to the city center’s cathedrals, restaurants, museums, and markets. A bridge leads across the river to parks, supermarkets, modern hospitals, and a movie complex; all within four or five blocks of the apartment.
Casa-Rio is modern and spacious, especially suitable for families or groups, and less expensive than a hotel. It has all the conveniences and comforts of home in the midst of a vibrant native culture.
You can surf the internet, watch DirecTV with many English-language channels, do your laundry, cook your favorite foods, or just sip coffee on your private balcony overlooking the river.
Casa-Rio is a two story, 3500 square feet home with two master suites with queen beds and en suite baths. One bath has a jetted tub in addition to a separate shower. The third bedroom has twin beds and opens onto a large balcony. The fourth bedroom is set up as an office with a double sofabed. The third bath has a bathtub and separate shower.
Located on the fourth and fifth floor of a secure six-unit building, Casa-Rio has views of the river, mountains, and Parque de la Madre from three balconies. There is a guard who will also help you carry your luggage up the stairs.
From the balcony you can watch daily life in a different culture. See kids walking to school and folks getting on and off the bus. In the park across the river, watch families playing soccer, jogging on the path, or just eating ice cream. Listen to concerts and events. Observe parades and maybe even demonstrations. Watch women doing laundry in the river and sweethearts sitting in the sun. All without leaving the balcony!
When you arrive you will be met at the airport and taken to the condo. Your driver will give you the keys and explain how things work. He is also available for hire to help with translation or to take you anywhere you want to go, such as the mineral baths or the Inca ruins at Ingapirca.
In the condo is information on local places of interest. There are directions to markets, restaurants, and an English bookstore with helpful owners. We have included the phone number of a good doctor who speaks English and will come to the house in the middle of the night if you need him.
The owners have set up Casa-Rio to make your vacation relaxed and interesting as they want you to be comfortable while you enjoy Ecuador!
