Portfolio Question

by | Jun 13, 2009 | Multi Currency Investing

A multi currency subscriber asked a portfolio question from yesterday’s lesson.

First let me add that yesterday I offered my Gary Scott subscribers a free multi currency subscription if they attend our July 24-26 seminar in North Carolina.

Since you have already subscribed, if you enroll in that course we will deduct $249 from the seminar fee thus making your subscription free as well.  More details below.

First the subscriber question.

Gary, As a US investor how can I instruct Jyske Global Asset Management to buy Brazilian bonds.  I am with JGAM now, so I can not tell them to buy more Brazilian bonds, as much as I would like to.  Are there other options for higher net worth individuals?

Here is the answer.

There are two types of JGAM accounts… managed and advisory.

US managed clients can ask to have bonds included in their managed account.  Sometimes JGAM can…. sometimes not. It depends on thelevel of risk you have chosen and the size of your acount… plus the investment you desire.

US resident advisory clients cannot buy the bonds, but they can buy the US Traded Brazil ETF  “The WisdomTree Dreyfus Brazilian Real Fund.” (BZF) mentioned in the article. This is a similar investment to the bonds.

Non US resident advisory clients can buy the bonds.

Please send your questions about multi currency investing to me at gary@garyascott.com and be sure to place the letters BL in the subjet line so I can provide a priority reply.

We enhance our emailed course with regular international investing and business seminars that I conduct in coordination with Jyske Bank and Jyske Global Asset Management.

Here I am at our last seminar in Naples Florida (may 2009).

The speakers at the Naples seminar discussed prospects for the economic future.  Left to right: Samuel Rachlin,  Rich Checkan, Steve Blumenthal, Joe Cox, John Mauldin, Gary Scott, Lars Stouge. Thomas Fischer Moderating.

The 115 delegates reported that they really gained from listening to what we had to say and…

talking among themselves during the coffee brakes and at meals.

One benefit of these seminars is talking to an overseas banker.  Here I am at the Naples  seminar  with my Jyske account executive Anders Nielsen.

Thomas Fischer of Jyske Global Asset Management will join us for the July North Carolina seminar.

I invite you to attend this July course. If you enroll between now and July 1st, as a multi currency subscriber I’ll reduce the seminar fee by $249.

“We thought that was such a fantastic conference.  I can’t remember the last time I was riveted to my seat, hanging on to every word at a seminar!   What a line -up.”
