We looked at real estate in the $70,000 to $90,000 range. Ibarra real estate is a little more expensive than Cotacachi real estate.
Ibarra houses are nice though, like in Cotacachi with lots of natural wood…
and tile…
garages…
land…
and views.
Gardens are great. Flowers grow like weeds here.
There is plenty of landscaping.
We viewed larger houses…
with huge rooms.
up and down…
with great kitchens!
Plus we saw less expensive, smaller condos as well.
Ibarra is about 30 minutes down the Pan Am highway from Cotacachi.
This is a large city, the capital of the Imbabura Province. Ibarra was founded in the 160os so has many beautiful colonial churches and buildings. Merri and I like it most of for its ice cream!
Using a large bronze pan surrounded by ice shavings, the juices of various fruits are stirred into the pan to freeze. We make the same at our hotel in Cotacachi. See it made here.
