Great Places to be – Lake Placid Area

Bargains you will not believe in another great place to be-Lake Placid Area!

There is no other way to make so much totally tax free income for thecommon man as in real estate. Buy a place you live in, fix it up and sellit. You can earn $500,000 every two years with no tax liability whatsoever.

My belief is that small towns out of the way will be the ones thatappreciate the most in the years ahead and there are some great bargainsnow in Small Town USA. Take Lake Placid (Florida) for example. Merri andI are headed there soon to look for another home for ourselves. (It's nearour new Grandson and warmer there in the winter!) This is a small town of1,700 people surrounded by 27 lakes ranging in size from 50 acres to27,000+ acres. Here are some of the places our research has found. Aseven bedroom, 3 story mansion with 6,000 square feet-$199,000! Threestory house on ten acres with lakefront on a blue 27,000 acre lake,$185,000. How about a nice three bedroom fenced house on two lots for$29,000? Efficiency condos on the 16th tee from $21,000 to $16,000. Thiscould be a great place to be!

This area is not far from civilization but most of the surrounding land isorange groves which have been owned by three generations ofagri-businesses. These groves not only perfume the air when the orangesare in bloom, but they stifle suburban encroachment and stop industry andjobs. So this little sleepy town has remained. Progress has left itbehind, and the locals have been fanatical about keeping the lakes cleanand the air pure. They also have plenty of water (very important in Florida!)

I feel this is the type of area that will attract retiring baby boomersfrom busy cities such as Tampa, Orlando and Miami. Since Lake Placid,Florida is not that far from Orlando, why not join Merri and me at ourupcoming Orlando course November 15-18, then drive down for a look foryourself!

Until next message I hope that wherever you are is great!
